Philosophical Underpinnings of the H.O.P. Model

This work draws on a large number of people.

Alfred Korzybski's early work on general semantics laid the base for Scramblers

Gregory Bateson (Steps to an Ecology of Mind) for ecology and the interrelationships of systems

Milton Erikson for hypnotic language patterns

Jean Piaget for stages of growth and development on which many others have built including a German professor doing human computer interface who has three stages/levels that correlate to the Operational, Managerial and Executive Functions

Warren Lamb (Posture and Gesture) and his development of the Movement Pattern Analysis (MPA) system in the 40's and 50's charted the frequency and direction of movements displayed in ordinary conversation and created action profiles.  He correlated regular relevant movements with vertical / lateral / saggital planes AND with mental activities.  These correlate with the three H.O.P. axis: attention / concept, intention / structure, commitment / use

Shelle Rose Charvet (Success Strategies) built on Leslie Cameron Bandler (1985) and then Roger Bailey's work with metaprograms

Candace Pert, PhD (Molecules of Emotion The Science Behind Mind-Body Medicine) on the importance of keeping neural pathways open, used and reactivated

Richard Dawkins (Ancestor's Tale) for the development of the senses

Sergio Pellis and Vivian Pellis (The Playful Brain: Venturing to the Limits of Neuroscience) for research on the value of play as a survival tool

Scott Harper and CTV (Lost Adventures of Childhood documentary) explores how the decline of free play deprives children of essential learning and development

Valerie Hunt (Infinite Mind – Science of the Human Vibrations of Consciousness) for using scientific assessment tools to graph and chart the energetic sense

Laird Brown and Deanna Sager for Wordsmithing

Daniel Levitin (The World in Six Songs ) explores the six universal songs that resonate within us at the deepest levels across cultures and correlate to the six faculties

Patricia Wall for untangling the Motivators

For a long time information presented was in 2s and multiples of … either/or … always a duality.  More recently that has changed.

Dawna Markova (The Art of the Possible) uses 3 senses and 6 patterns for education and business
