The Six H.O.P.s

Individuals who walk the Amethyst H.O.P. excel at pattern recognition and delight in playing with theory and building theoretical models. At the same time they maintain a wide perspective and stay focused on the big picture. They are secure in their position in the group and work within established parameters to create the new idealized future that is their motivator.


Individuals following the Pearl H.O.P. have high moral values and live them as they envision an ideal future. Even though they expect perfection from themselves, they are fair and equitable toward and accept human frailty in others. Individuals following this H.O.P. are motivated by data / information and will probe deeply in search of other avenues or solutions.

Individuals following the Quartz H.O.P. effortlessly roll out a strategy, monitor progress as the plan is carried out, alter it in response to input, and ensure that each step functions correctly and leads to the next. They are motivated by information and seek to improve their own skills and the tools and skills of their profession. They are efficient, orderly, patient and excellent mentors to those with less tools or skills.

Individuals who walk the Euclase H.O.P. excel at evolving and improving things and work best with very clear requirements. They can modify an existing system until it acts at full potential and operates efficiently.  This sets up the optimum environment for their motivational imperative, people; whether it is company restructuring, redesigning space or a user friendly web site. It's automatic for them to discover the key person in an organization and sometimes surprisingly that may well not be the president or the chair of the committee or the team leader. 

Individuals who follow the Opal H.O.P. specialize in 'just in time'. They wait until ALL the information is in before acting / writing a document / packing. While it can looks like procrastination, it is pausing until the maximum information is available in order to produce the highest quality product. Their motivator is people. As they coordinate activities, they sense the needs of the group and smoothly shift roles according to the task at hand.

Individuals following the Unakite H.O.P. quickly identify the relative competence of others and will select associates carefully. Their area of expertise is connecting people and they form effective networks among associates in business and recreational contexts. Their motivational imperative of values/ethics is evident in the groupings they form and the consideration they give to how plans will impact others.
